Wanderlust

Wanderlust is a big thing for me. I love travelling, and not just the destinations but also the trains, planes, cars and boats that it takes to get there. To me, theres nothing better than looking out of a window, watching the whole world rush past. I love seeing new places and experiencing new things and meeting new people. I rarely get to travel though, thanks to lack of funds from being able to find a job.

I’ve seen so many blog posts and videos and the such recently that seem to look down on people that aren’t travelling and the people making or writing them will say things like ‘just go’. I can’t ‘just go’, as much as i wish i could. For one, go where? I can’t afford tickets, hostels or food so i don’t really see myself getting very far. I also want to travel with my boyfriend and we both have responsibilities. Aside from trying to get jobs, we have bills and rent to pay. We have a flat full of stuff and two cats, if we ‘just go’ they will have to be given away or sold, almost all of our things would have to be given away or sold, and when we got back we’d have no where to live.

I know this is a little ranty, but it really frustrates me. I’d love to just up and go somewhere on some big adventure but lets face it, unless you’re rich, its almost impossible. Let me know your opinions on this subject, I’d love to hear them!!

  1. There are lots of things you can do and see without having lots of money. A day trip by coach or with train tickets on offer can be amazing. Is true you can’t go that far, but there are so many things to see and do closer to home, like free museums, events. Hugs

  2. There are certain times in your life that is easier to travel, but i guess most of us do have committments. Myself and my husband are lucky to be able to work from home or wherever we wish, all we need is a computer and wi-fi, and my son is now 18 so can look aftetrhimself. Obviously you can’t just go if you have bills to pay and animals to look after (or kids for that matter) but if you really want to travel there are ways to do it. Good luck!
