Do you often find yourself daydreaming about jumping on a plane or spending the day on a deserted beach watching the waves roll in? Travelling is something that will always benefit us in some way. If you’re a victim of wanderlust, why not let it win? You’ll only ever regret not taking more time to explore the world. If, like me, you’re keen to discover more of the world, here are some ideas to help you plan your next trip.
The exotic beach holiday
Does your idea of an ideal holiday involve palm trees gently swaying in a tropical breeze, golden sands, and wall-to-wall sunshine? If so, why not take a trip to the Caribbean? All three of these destinations boast beaches worthy of postcard scenes, and you can rely on the weather at most times of the year. The Caribbean islands are renowned for their gentle pace of life, and this is the ultimate destination to chill out, kick back, and take in the views. Head to Jamaica or Barbados if you’re looking for lively resorts or make for Grenada, St Lucia or Tobago if you’re after a more tranquil escape.
If you’re anything like me, you can get carried away with booking flights and organising far-flung adventures without taking time to enjoy what’s on your doorstep. Staycations can be just as fun and memorable as holidays overseas. If you’re thinking of planning a short break, look no further than Wales. Home to national parks, deserted beaches, and bustling cities, a break in Wales won’t disappoint. If shopping, sightseeing and nightlife are your thing, you’ll love the lively scene in Cardiff. If you’re after something more sedate, head to the Pembrokeshire coast and set up camp in charming Tenby. If you can feel the great outdoors calling, make for the Brecon Beacons. You’ll find all the information you could possibly need to plan your Welsh getaway, including sights and attractions, award-winning hotels, and South Wales top restaurants online.
The city break
Do you fancy taking a tour of museums, monuments, and galleries, or are you desperate to see those landmarks made famous by blockbuster films in real life? If so, there’s no better place to be than Rome. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time the moment you set foot on the winding streets, and your adventure will take you to all kinds of breathtaking sights, from the Forum and the Colosseum to St Peter’s Basilica, the Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain. If you want to spend more time in Italy, the train network is fantastic, and you can travel almost anywhere from Rome. Take a trip to Sorrento via Naples or head North to Pisa or Florence.
It’s a brand new year, and what better way to beat the blues than thinking about where you’ll travel next. It;s time to stop daydreaming, and let wanderlust win! Stop spending hours looking at other people’s photographs of incredible beaches or the Northern Lights. Get out there and see the world for yourself!
