Best Places to Visit This Year!

We are about a quarter of the way into 2017, and if you’re anything like me, this year has been a busy one so far, which is why now is the perfect time to think about planning a holiday!

We all deserve some relaxation time away from the hustle and bustle of daily life, and a holiday is the perfect way to take some time out, but where to go? This year, there are a number of destinations that really stand out. Here are some of the most interesting:

India

If you are looking for a unique place to travel to, which offers that heady mix of culture, sunshine and relaxation, India is the place to be. The country has come a long way since it gained its independence, and it now has the infrastructure to cope with an influx of tourists looking for a good time. As well as spending time in the spice markets of the city, and exploring the exotic regions of Gujarat and the Andaman Islands, you can enrol on yoga courses, live in the lap of luxury at five-star hotels like The Taj Mahal Hotel and explore the history and architecture of India.

Portugal

If you want to go from the drabness of the UK to spectacular sunshine in a few short hours, check out etias.com, to see if you meet the entry requirements, and then book your flights to Portugal. The country is finally starting to claw its way back from economic instability, so its a great place to visit and support through tourism. Portugal has some of the best beaches, freshest foods, including fish, and cosmopolitan cities in the whole of Europe.

Canada

This year, Canada is celebrating its 150th anniversary, and as you would expect from the second biggest country on the planet, it is doing it in style. The people of Canada have organised numerous events, which you will be able to get involved with when you aren’t white water rafting, whale watching or chasing the northern lights. To take a closer look at some of the places in Canada that are ‘must visit’ you can check out this blog post!

Scotland

If you’re looking for something a bit closer to home, check out Visitscotland.com, and you will soon see why the historic country is a great place to spend a weekend, a week or even a whole month! Whether you’re into whiskey tasting, wild camping or stand up comedy, you’ll find no end of activities to keep you entertained when you’re not busy exploring the rugged landscapes and pretty lochs of Scotland. Who knows, if you’re lucky, you might even see the Loch Ness Monster! This is the last part of the UK I need to visit so that I’ve visited the entirety of the UK, and its probably the one I’m most excited to explore.

Bolivia

Bolivia might not be the first place that you think of when it comes to planning a relaxing break, and it might get less than a million visitors annually, but the South American has a lot to offer. So, get your shots, and then get ready for some of the most amazing experiences of your life as you trek through the Amazon, climb mountains and follow the ‘Che Trail’ where you’ll find out more about the country’s national hero Che Guevara, who died exactly 50 years ago. It’ll be a holiday you’ll never forget!
