Trying To Save Money?

I’ve been trying to save up money lately to go on a holiday, and I’m admittedly not doing brilliantly but I’ve definitely failed more extravagantly in the past so I’m fairly happy with the progress I’ve made. I thought, for that reason, I’d share a few of the things I’ve been doing to try to save/make money!

Sell Stuff.

I know it seems like a huge thing, but even just the clothes in the back of your wardrobe you haven’t worn in ages can bring a little money in, and you’ve gotta make money to save money. I’ve been going a lot more ‘minimalist’ lately (posts coming about that soon!) and by selling things I neither need nor want I have managed to make a nice little bit of money to add to my meagre savings.

Buy Cheap.

Not spending anything at all is hard, so if you do want to buy something make sure you’re using sites like latest deals. If you’re going to be buying something anyway, you’d may as well make sure you’re spending as little as possible and latest deals have so many great prices on so many different things its always worth having a look, you never know what you might find!

With buying cheap though, theres also the things you need like food. Try to make sure you’re shopping in the cheapest places possible and buying the cheapest possible alternatives to the expensive things you might usually pay. Switching up your internet or TV packages can also save you a lot of money.

Keep Receipts.

It can be shocking to go through receipts at the end of the month and see just how much money you’ve spent on coffee’s or train tickets and all sorts of random bits and pieces. You don’t think so much about things when its just a few quid here and a few pounds there but its really does all add up and so much quicker than I expected. Keeping receipts can help you to see where your money is going and once you know that, you can change it.

Do you have any other money saving tips? I’d love to hear them in the comments!
