My Little Yard.

When we were moving from the first flat we lived in one thing I was sure of was that I wanted an out door space. I didn’t really care what, it would have been lovely to have a real garden with grass and all but I would have been just as happy with a balcony. I got something in the middle, a yard thats only slightly larger than a balcony and I adore it.

I can’t even begin to tell you how lovely it is to stand outside in the morning with a cup of tea and that gorgeous view of the Mersey. The day I took these pictures was, unfortunately, one of the few grey days we’ve had lately but you can definitely still see how lovely of a view it is!

To prepare for summer I wanted to add a little extra colour, so we got these light up bunting flags and some multicolour fairy lights too! I do have flowers but since they all flower at different times theres often not an awful lot of colour about, sometimes you’ve just got to take what you can get and colourful flags and lights are definitely not the worse thing I could ask for!

I also bought some herbs, finally! I have basil, parsley, rosemary and not pictured is my bayleaf tree. I love being able to go outside and grab some herbs to go into my food and I feel like fresh herbs really add a lot of flavour. I’m hoping to add sage and thyme to my little collection sometime super soon.

My cats aren’t outdoor cats for a variety of reasons but with the recent sunshine I’ve been spending more time outside meaning these clingy babies have had a few adventures beyond the back door! They mostly peep out of my bathroom window as you can see but they have risked going as far as the step outside the door. They both ran back in as soon as the wind blew but they gave it a go!

So thats my little yard. Its not a lot and I don’t really have a green thumb so it probably never will be amazing but I love it, it brings me a lot of joy and good feelings and I definitely wouldn’t be happy to end up in a place without out door space again!
