Sick Day Movies!

I’ve had a cold for about a week now so I’ve been watching a lot of movies and drinking a lot of stuff that’s tastes gross in an attempt to get rid of it, so rather than share disgusting recipes that apparently don’t even work I thought I’d share a few movies that I like to watch when I’m ill!

The Mummy

Who doesn’t love the mummy? It was my absolute favourite movie as a kid so now it gives me all those warm fuzzy nostalgia feelings and I think even for those who don’t have those feelings about it it’s a great, easy watch for when you’re ill. The mummy returns is also fab but I wouldn’t recommend the third one or the recent remake.

Jumanji

Jumanji gives me the same nostalgia feels as The Mummy but has way more laughs in it for me, which isn’t the best when laughing turns into coughing but who can resist? I recently watched the remake with Jack Black in it because I’m a huge fan of him and I didn’t think it was particularly good, not awful either and definitely a fairly entertaining watch but not an amazing movie.

Drop Dead Fred

It has to be here doesn’t it? When do I write a post about movies and not mention Drop Dead Fred? It’s a hilarious movie starring the incredible Rik Mayall and a plot focusing around a woman finding her strength and then realising it was there all along. This is one of my absolute favourite movies of all time and I strongly recommend that anyone reading this drop what you’re doing and watch it immediately however you can.

Jurassic Park

It’s another one of those movies that I think anyone around my age has a lot of nostalgia around and it’s also one of those movies that has held up really well and is just as great a watch now as it was when I first saw it. It’s also no secret that I adore Jeff Goldblum to a possibly unhealthy level, to the point where I have watched Cats and Dogs more than once in the past month.

Bridge to Terabithia

This is not a feel good film at all and I cry every single time, so be warned if you’ve not seen it before! Outside of that though it really is a great film and again one that I loved as a kid. I watched it recently for the first time in a long time because it’s been added to Netflix and it’s great to watch a kids film that’s just as good as I remember. I also found out that Robert Patrick is in it and we all know I’m a sucker for watching anything that has someone I like in it.

Goosebumps

Yes, I am talking about the one with Jack Black in, we’ve already talked about how much I love him. I know this doesn’t have the best reviews but having grown up reading and watching Goosebumps I always enjoy this movie, especially when I’ll, and I’m glad there’s a sequel coming out soon!

I’ll end the list here so I can go back to sipping my hot lemon and feeling sorry for myself! Let me know what your favourite sick day movies are in the comments please, I’m running out of things to watch!
