Netflix Christmas Films!

I love a good old Netflix binge and with it being both Sunday and the start of December, now is the perfect time to get into all the Christmas films that pop up on Netflix every year! Here are a few of my favourites that are currently on there since we all know I’m not about to buy a Christmas film on DVD.

The Christmas Chronicles

This is a new Netflix original starring the amazing Kurt Russell and it’s definitely already up there in my list of favourite Christmas films. It’s charming and magical, I think that in the future it’s going to be considered just as classic as Home Alone or The Grinch honestly. It’s got the good old ‘kids-meet-Santa-trouble-ensues’ story line that we all know and love, Kurt Russel is a brilliant Santa and it’s just really bloody good!

A Christmas Prince

This Netflix Original came out last year with its sequel following recently and I really enjoyed them. They’re not everyone’s cup of tea, my boyfriend and best friend have made it clear they’re never going to watch a single second of either of these films, but they’re cheesy and full of romance that I love! The acting is, at times, a bit dodgy and the girl you’re supposed to be rooting for is a bit annoying but other characters and the beautiful scenery balance it out for me!

The Princess Switch

This is that Prince and the Pauper looking one starring Vanessa Hudgens and Vanessa Hudgens that you’ve seen advertised and honestly I loved it. It was romantic, a little cheesy and the perfect happy ending that we all want this time of year. As a high school musical kid, I don’t think I have it in me to say anything bad about this film or Vanessa Hudgens. It wasn’t incredible but it’s a cute watch for some Christmas vibes.

Yes it’s my all time favourite Christmas film, it’s got such a heart warming plot with so many twists and turns but a great ending. The comedy Nativity uses is hilarious and perfectly timed while also having scenes that make me feel extreme second hand embarrassment and others that make me want to cry. It also has some of the catchiest Christmas songs of any Christmas film ever. Watch the second one if you must but don’t expect much from it, pretend the third one never happened.

Jack Frost

I know we’ve likely all seen Jack Frost at some point but it was added to Netflix recently so I watched it for the first time in years. I loved it, it’s a bit dumb and the comedy can’t decide who it’s being aimed at and the plot is a bit totally insane and I absolutely whole heartedly adore it. Rich hates it, but isn’t that what boyfriends are for?

  1. I usually choose to watch TV Shows over movies, but some of these Netflix films sound like of fun. I’ve heard about The Princess Switch and A Christmas Prince. They seem ridiculous but so fun at the same time, LoL. Definitely hoping to check out these movies during this holiday season.
