Carry on Beautiful!

If you follow me on Insta, you will have seen that we’ve had an addition to our family! His name is Alhiss Cooper and he’s a six year old corn snake.

I am having to feed him mice, which isn’t the nicest thing for a vegan to be doing and I’m sure there are those out there that have all sorts of opinions about me doing that, but my boy needs to eat!

I’ve never spent all that much time around snakes but I’ve never been scared of them, so when his previous owner was looking for a new home for him I welcomed him right in….and the asked Rich if it was okay.

We’ve had him for a fair while now but I didn’t want to start showing him off in case it didn’t work out! I had a lot of anxiety to start with since I had so much to learn to ensure I’m taking care of him properly, but the Internet is a wonderful tool and I’ve found the staff at pets at home to also be incredibly helpful.

He’s settled in brilliantly is a lovely snake to handle, though he can be a bit of a wriggler! Him and the cats have had a few stare offs through the glass of his viv but don’t seem too fussed by each other, though I am obviously keeping them away from each other when he’s out the viv.

If you’re not a fan of snakes and have made it this far, you deserve to treat yourself. I hope you’ve enjoyed this post and whether you like snakes or not, you have to admit he’s gorgeous! I can’t believe how much I’ve fallen in love with this scaly lil dude, so I hope everyone is ready to see a million more posts about him!
