I reviewed Doughmain’s school cake and two doughnuts in a post a while ago, tonight I was lucky enough to have Doughmain selling Little Shop of Horrors inspired treats at an event at work today. I’m not sure I’ve ever been so glad to work at Videodyssey! Of course I had to grab myself a few more vegan treats, and to shake it up I got a cookie and a brownie.
I mean, for a start just look at them. They suit the Little Shop of Horrors theme so well while still looking delicious. I’m really kicking myself now for not getting a doughnut because they looked incredible, you can see them for your self in VideOdyssey’s Little Shop Instagram highlight!
I haven’t had a cookie like this since before I went vegan and that’s over two years ago. Chewy without being doughy and the white chocolate chunks actually tasted like white chocolate. I haven’t found a vegan white chocolate yet that actually taste like it but this is perfect and compliments the flavour of the actual cookie so well. By far one of the best cookies I’ve ever had.
That brings us to the brownie. It’s hard to put into words just how good this brownie is. The outside has a light crunch before a layer of cake brownie with a fudge brownie centre and a harder biscuit base, I think it might be a type of Blondie? I’ve never had one so I’m not sure but it tastes a bit like the Ben and Jerry’s Blondie! It’s delicious and the variety of textures means it has everything anyone could want from a brownie. It’s a heavy, rich and chunky brownie and it’s only £2.50!
Once again, Doughmain is just incredible. How one woman manages to makes both this quantity and quality of well thought out themed and vegan baked good is just incredible and thoroughly blows my mind. If you’re in the Merseyside area make sure to pay Doughmain a visit and treat yourself!
