I’ve taken a little break from my blog, as you may or may not have noticed. It was partly because I was having another slump of not particularly enjoying it, and partly because I’ve been pretty busy. The last few days I’ve been itching to blog again though, so it seems like a good time to have a little chat about what I’ve been up to!
I’ve mostly been writing for purplerevolver.com. We’re about to have a relaunch so I’ve been working on having enough articles, to schedule a fair few to get us going. When I’m not feeling so good about blogging, purple revolver really comes in handy! It’s only a little team of us that write on there and it’s so great to be a part of that, and get to read what everyone else is writing. It can be a great source of inspiration, and I get some great feedback on my writing from my boss!
As always, I’ve been spending plenty of time in the video shop too! Our eBay sales are going pretty well at the moment, so I’ve had plenty of listing and packaging to do. I still feel so lucky to have a job that involves getting to look through thousands of brilliant tapes! So many have receipts or magazine clippings from when they were originally bought too, it’s honestly really interesting!
Instagram reels have also managed to grab my attention, and I don’t think I’m very good at them, but they’re really fun to do! I’ve been doing fashion types of reels, and I feel like it’s actually really helped me to develop my style, and I think I’ve become a bit more adjusted to how my body looks too, but that’s a whole different blog post to write!
I don’t think there’s ever been a time in my life that I’m not doing something music related, but I’m finally getting some stuff recorded. It’s a constant struggle against my own standards, nothing I do is ever quite good enough for myself when it comes to music, but I’m trying to move past that a bit. I really do want to release some music at some point, but I want it to be something I’m really proud of, and I struggle a lot with that.
Finally, I’ve unfortunately been busy trying to downsize our little family. We have way too many pets now, and if I leave it too long I know it’ll get to a point where I’m not looking after them like I should, so I’ve been trying to find a new home for Alanhiss. Not many people want a snake, and I’m really struggling to find anyone that seems like they’d be able to care for her properly.
So, that’s been my blog free life! It’s not the most interesting, but it’s mine, and with everything going on in the world I just feel very lucky to be doing anything remotely fun or productive!
