I cut my hair off!

Bit of a dramatic title, but at least it’s not click bait! With two households being allowed to meet up outside now, I grabbed a hair dresser that lives near me and had him cut it for me. I’m really glad I did that, because I was getting very close to just doing it myself and I definitely wouldn’t have done as good a job!

If you’ve seen any pictures of me before, or watched any of my YouTube videos, you’ll know that I had loooong hair, and it was really annoying me. It was knotty, got caught on everything, I was tired of dying it, and mostly I was just really ready for a change!

I won’t lie, I was nervous as hell getting a solid 12 inches of hair cut off, but the second I looked in the mirror I couldn’t stop smiling. It was like looking in the mirror and seeing how I should have looked. It just feels so me and I absolutely couldn’t be happier with it.

It’s just so fun! I’ve never had hair shorter than around arm pit length, so it’s a big change for me and all the little things like feeling wind on the back of my neck or having my hair bounce is completely new and amazing! Being able to curl it or straighten it and have it stay that way blows my mind, and putting it up without feeling like my scalp is going to get pulled up is equally brilliant!

I told my hairdresser I just wanted it big, bouncy and 80’s, and he really pulled through! It’s exactly what I imagined it would be and what I wanted, and he gave me some great tips for styling and caring for it too.

All in all, I’m very happy, and it might be the first time in my entire life that I really actually like my hair enough to care about washing it and brushing it and all the other things I should have been doing all along!

    1. I’ve been thinking of cutting it short (for me) for years, but lockdown was definitely the push I think! All these months of seeing so few faces, I’d gotten sick of my own 😂
Whatever you do I’m sure it’ll look amazing!
